Opening General Session & Luncheon:
Shaping a Winning Culture with Dr. Kevin Elko

Friday, April 29
11:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

That’s right. This year’s conference boasts not one, but two keynote speakers to deliver tidbits and leadership strategies to Georgia’s county officials. The first speaker, Dr. Kevin Elko, will speak to Annual Conference attendees during the opening general session on Friday, April 29 at 11:15 a.m. Yes, there has been a change. The opening general session will take place on Friday instead of the usual Saturday, so be sure to arrive at the conference on time!

Dr. Elko is recognized as the “head coach” for some of the winningest collegiate and professional football teams. Elko’s strategies have also led a number of the nation’s most notable companies – Tyson Foods, ING, and Merrill Lynch to name a few – to success. Join your county colleagues during the opening general session to learn his strategies on shaping a winning culture to make your county shine!

CCG Awards Lunch & Conference Keynote:
Off Balance on Purpose with Dan Thurmon

Saturday, April 30
11: 30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

We all strive to achieve the perfect work-life balance, but have you ever thought that it’s OK to be off balance? Understanding that it’s unrealistic to achieve such perfection, world-renowned Hall of Fame keynote speaker Dan Thurmon has made it acceptable to be off balance on purpose. He will serve as the conference’s second and final keynote speaker.

As the title of his book and popular keynote presentation suggests, off balance on purpose will teach commissioners to let go of the notion of being perfectly balanced while making an ongoing effort to infuse “life” in the workplace. Thurmon will grace Georgia’s county officials on Saturday, April 30 at 11:30 a.m. during the awards luncheon. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness this dynamic and entertaining speaker. Furthermore, join other conference attendees as we honor the recipients of the annual ACCG Awards & Recognition Program for their efforts in making their counties shine.
