Georgia County Internship Program Leads to New Employees for Camden County

Each summer, the ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation provides interns to counties across the state through the Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP). One of the greatest success stories of this internship program for both counties and students is when it leads to full time jobs, as it has for two recent Camden County interns.
The newest member of Camden County’s Information Technology (IT) staff is Ian Maxwell (pictured top left). He previously served as an intern in the IT Department through GCIP during the summer of 2017. After his graduation from Georgia Southern University, he began his new role as the IT Helpdesk Technician.

Additionally, 2019 GCIP participant Madison Cameron (pictured bottom left with Chairman Jimmy Starline) is joining the Administration Department in July following her recent graduation from the University of North Florida. Through her project completing the Camden County Government Guide, she developed an understanding of the work of the Camden County Board of Commissioners and their role in the community.
