County Platform & Legislative Priorities

ACCG County Platform

Click here to find a draft of the 2013-2014 Amended County Platform as adopted by the ACCG Membership during the Legislative Leadership Conference on September 30, 2013. Each individual committee report was voted on by the membership. Please take some time to review the policy agenda/priorities on pages 7-9.

In many instances, language has been added or deleted from existing association policies to shorten the policy statement, add language that strengthens the associationís position, or remove actions which have already been accomplished. Questions regarding any of the policies should be directed to the appropriate ACCG committee staff member by calling (404) 522-5022 or (800) 858-2224.

Legislative Priorities

The Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) works on behalf of counties and their communities to provide public policy development and legislative advocacy on issues that come before the Georgia General Assembly and the U.S. Congress.  As part of ACCGís policy development process, county officials identify specific, actionable items for the Associationís lobbyists to further.  These items, that are called the Legislative Agenda, are recommended by the ACCG Policy Council, approved by the Board of Managers and voted upon by the ACCG membership at the Legislative Leadership Conference as part of the County Platform.
