As ACCG's first Director of Communications, she is charged with coordinating ACCG's communications network which includes media relations, the Web site, Georgia County Government magazine and other publications as well as developing communications campaigns to raise awareness about county government and to promote civic engagement. Additional responsibilities include assisting with member outreach, supporting the legislative policy team and handling other special projects. Prior to joining ACCG in January 2009, she served as Director of Communications for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. In this position, her responsibilities included providing proactive public affairs counsel to the DNR management team, developing and implementing marketing and communications campaigns, working with the media, and coordinating fundraising projects. Beth is a graduate of the University of Georgia Henry W. Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communications. She is a member of the 2008 class of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership and in the 2009 class of the Regional Leadership Institute.
