Sales Tax Distribution Report Available Online

SALES TAX DISTRIBUTION REPORT AVAILABLE ONLINE

ATLANTA - The Department of Revenue has launched a new Sales Tax Distribution Report on its website that will allow every local jurisdiction (county, city, school system) the ability to identify its monthly sales tax distribution amount from January 1999 to the present, Commissioner Bart L. Graham announced today.

"The Department hopes that all interested parties will access this distribution report," Commissioner Graham said. "Historically, the Department provided just the net distribution amount. The scope of the new report format is more comprehensive and informative."

Beginning in June 2009, the distribution reports now include the source of the net amounts distributed  - whether from a retailer's monthly return payment, an assessment of the retailer, or from an audit collection based upon examination of a retailer's books and records. The old report format reflected only a local jurisdiction's current monthly payment, not prior periods. Additionally, information can be requested for multiple distribution periods and exported to other media (e.g. MS Excel). The distribution data reflects only the amounts distributed to each jurisdiction for the period(s) requested. The report can be accessed via this link:  https://etax.dor.ga.gov/STDistribution/Default.aspx
