Georgia Supreme Court Amends Rules for Preparing the Record for Appeals in Response to Increase in Per Page Charge Set by HB 1055
HB 1055 provided for an increase in fees charged by state agencies and counties for the provision of some services. In recent weeks, the legal community has expressed concern that the fee increase from $1.50 to $10 per page for preparing the court record for appeals would limit access to the courts. As a result, the Supreme Court of Georgia has issued an order amending their rules to provide an alternative for preparing the record on cases appealed to the Supreme Court.
