Due to the passage of Senate Bill 384, portions of county ordinances that regulate the installation of pre-owned manufactured homes based on year of construction of the home will become invalid on September 1, 2010.   Accordingly, it may be necessary for your county to update its ordinances regulating pre-owned manufactured homes.  ACCG has developed a model ordinance to assist counties with this process and has provided a copy to your county attorney. Counties may still establish minimum health and safety standards for pre-owned manufactured homes.  The model ordinance provides examples of the types of regulations that are presumably valid under the new law.
