In 2011, the ACCG – Group Health Benefits Plan (GHBP) will once again offer Health Promotion and Wellness Grants.  The grant is available to any county or authority that is insured through ACCG - GHBP.  Those selected as grant recipients can qualify for up to $20 per insured employee and the funds can be used for almost any health promotion or wellness activity.  Previous recipients have used funds for health fairs, smoking cessation and weight loss programs, or to purchase pedometers or exercise equipment to encourage employee health. The grant may be used to initiate a wellness program or to enhance an existing one.
