This committee examines health and human service delivery and financing issues. These include indigent health care, medically underserved areas, public health, mental health, developmental disabilities, addictive diseases, PeachCare for Kids, Medicare and Medicaid, hospital authorities, emergency medical services, programs for the elderly, and at-risk children and youth, and housing. Intergovernmental relationships and the interface of county governments with for-profit, non-profit and volunteer health and human service providers are a particular focus for this committee.
