Public Safety and the Courts


Considers issues pertaining to the funding and administration of the court system, criminal justice, public safety, law enforcement, corrections and jails. The committee also looks at alternatives to incarceration as a means of limiting the fiscal and social costs it has on counties along with funding for law enforcement and firefighter training. Additionally, the committee gives special attention to emergency management, disaster relief and civil defense as counties' role in this area continues to grow.l resources, wetlands and energy conservation.
