During the 2008 session, the Georgia General Assembly passed Senate Bill 342 which charged the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority with conducting an inventory and survey of feasible sites for water supply reservoirs in the state. On November 6, GEFA made public this study which aims to provide information and a preliminary analysis that can support decisions by local governments and recommendations by Regional Water Planning Councils (under the state Water Plan) on how best to augment local water supply.
