Center for State and Local Finance Financial Risk Management Course


Georgia State University's Center for State and Local Finance is offering a course on financial risk management as part of its executive education in public finance program. Retirement, Risk Management and Procurement will be lead by former DeKalb County Chief Financial Officer Joel Gottlieb and will include instruction from former DOAS Deputy Director for Procurement Leslie Lowe and Harold Weston, associate professor at GSU's Robinson College of Business.


2017 County Budget News


Counties should be prepared for busget changes that will occur in 2017. Among the changes are automatic longevity increases for county officials elected in 2016.

The Georgia Forestry Commission reminds counties that a new timber harvesting ordinance is in effect. The ordinance is a result of HB 199 passed during the 2015 legislative session.
