Georgia Fireworks FAQ

The regulation of ‘fireworks’ has undergone significant changes due to the enactment of HB 110 in 2015 and HB 727 in 2016.  A new category of ‘fireworks’ called "consumer fireworks" can now be legally sold and used in Georgia. City and county attorneys should familiarize themselves with these new provisions so that they are able to properly advise municipal and county officials. This Frequently Asked Question Sheet has been produced jointly by the Georgia Municipal Association & Association County Commissioners of Georgia to provide local government attorneys with a place to start.
