Section 319(h) Nonpoint Source Implementation Grant

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division has announced a request for proposals for its FY 2018 Section 319(h) Nonpoint Source Implementation Grant. This grant is provided under the Clean Water Act to help prevent, control and /or abate nonpoint pollution in support of Georgia’s Nonpoint Source Management Program.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include public entities such as city or county governments with Qualified Local Government status; regional and State agencies; authorities that operate public service or delivery programs (e.g. sewer, water); regional commissions; resource conservation and development councils; county extensions; and local school systems and state colleges and universities.

Applicants must meet all three of the following minimum requirements to be considered for funding:

  1. Implement existing watershed-based plans that adequately address USEPA’s Nine Elements for Watershed Planning;
  2. Focus within a single 10-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC-10) or smaller; AND
  3. Commit to a minimum 40 percent non-federal Match that can be accomplished through local funds, in-kind services, or other non-federal sources

Deadline and Further Information

The FY2018 application deadline is October 31, 2017. *All applicants must attend a Pre-application meeting webinar with the GAEPD Grants Unit in early September 2017, for review of draft proposals and an initial project evaluation.
